Red /Black roulette system theory....

I never played casino games then one night about 7 years ago I was in a bar and this old guy who had been around along time told me about his "system" about playing RED/BlACK on the roulette wheel....Well it sounded pretty logical so I went to AC and tried it, did exactly what he said ...Waited til Red or Black hit 6-7 times in a row then put down some money on the opposite, then if that lost double down because odds were it would have to hit in the next couple times /infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

WRONG! I saw it hit 16 times in a row same color, went home with change in my pocket /infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif never played a casino game again....I could have sworn the wheel was rigged...Anyone else ever try this or see this happen? /infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif /infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif
